Glossary
Band: Specific part of the electromagnetic spectrum which is recorded by a sensor.
Bathymetry: Measurement of the topographic height of the surface in bodies of water, such as oceans, rivers, or lakes.
Bit depth: The number of bits used to represent the range of possible values which can be stored in a single pixel in a digital image. It determines the number of possible colours or shades of grey that each pixel can display. In general, the higher the bit depth, the greater the number of possible colours or shades, which results in more detailed and accurate images.
